We are excited to announce the launch of the powerful “Distracted Driving” campaign sponsored by BCMS. With edgy visuals and influential messaging, a series of ads have been created to run throughout Boulder County starting October 15, 2011.

The decision to devote funds to this campaign was made by the BCMS Executive Committee after a presentation on the subject by Dr. Lila Rosenthal. A subcommittee consisting of Drs. Rosenthal, Laird Cagan, John Ogle, Mel Stjernholm and Casey Gallagher then worked collaboratively with Oblique Design, a local design agency, to create and finalize the campaign. In the end, we narrowed it down and selected two different options.  The first ad is the skeleton family as seen on this site.  A second image will be posted when it is being used on the buses.

Our overall goal is to try and improve the safety of our citizens by targeting younger drivers who are careless behind the wheel. With these eye-catching ads, we aim to impact local drivers by addressing the tremendous dangers of texting while driving.

As more and more drivers are texting while driving, we hope this campaign will have a positive impact on our community. Promoting awareness and supporting the cause, if BCMS can save just one person's life, or even get people talking - what an impact we could have!
